ETL specialist

Our expanding company specialising in the implementation of managerial decision-making controlling systems for manufacturing and distribution enterprises is seeking an ETL specialist for BNS.

Job description

  • development of the BNSI data warehouse (MS SQL Server environment) for BNS (Business Navigation System)
  • implementation of the BNSI data warehouse on customer projects including installation and configuration of its database environment (MS SQL Server)
  • support for ETL activities on projects involving the Tableau analytical tool

We require

A) SQL Server 2008 R2 and higher

  • Practical experience with ETL on the MS SQL Server platform
  • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL (creation and optimisation of T-SQL procedures and functions)
  • The ability to optimise/develop the data warehouse
  • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server Management Studio
  • Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server Profiler
  • Experience with connecting SQL Server to other relational database systems (Oracle, AS/400, …)
  • Experience with programming CLR functions for MS SQL Server an advantage

B) Other platforms

  • Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language (C, C++, C#, VB, Java …)
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel (knowledge of VBA for Excel an advantage)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows server operating systems (rights, log files)
  • Basic IT skills

C) Other skills

  • Knowledge of English
  • Group B driver’s licence
  • Basic communication skills (communication with internal consultants and customer representatives)
  • Training skills (training the customer’s BNS administrators)
  • Willingness to work in a team (other internal ETL specialists, the project team implementing the project at the customer)
